Camp 2012

Camp at Waipara.
On Tuesday the 13th of March 2012 St Anne’s year 7 and 8’s went to Waipara Boys Brigade Camp.
First we explored the camp and unpacked next we had some free time and tried out all the activities.
After lunch we completed an orienteering course down on the lower field it was fun.
After dinner we played ‘Who wants to be a millionaire’ and spotlight and some of us watched Gnomeo and Juliet.
Day two we started with a run and then after breakfast we went to Ruth and Keith’s farm and did a long walk and had lots of life lessons from Mr C.
In the afternoon we went on the water slide it was great.
At night we did Wearable arts and spotlight again.
Thursday was another run and then we broke into three groups and did air-rifles, flying fox and confidence course. At night it was party time and games.
Friday was a big clean and home.
Thanks to all that helped and made it the best campJ

Steeple Removed from St Anne's Church

Steeple removed from St Anne’s Church.
On Monday the 20th of February, some Engineers came to our community church to takedown the steeple.
First of all, the crane and cherry picker arrived throughout the day. Then the Engineer’s came with a concrete cutter to cut the four legs but the concrete legs were reinforced with so much steel, they could not cut.
So they brought in some jackhammers and more concrete saws and it took them all week to cut through the legs.
Finally On Friday at 12pm the steeple was ready to move.
The massive crane lifted up the cross and gently placed it on its side next to the church.
Now watch the video.
