East Zones Athletics Championship
On the 15 of November 2011 16 schools gathered to compete in the South East Zones Athletics Championship. About 1000 people competing in the events. The events were high jump, long jump, shot put, discus, sprints, relay and distance.
We Competed at Hansen park in Opawa. During the sprints lots of people were cheering for their friends! While we were cheering the people doing the sprints, the school beside us started to copy us. There were lots of schools
There were lots of other schools such as Redcliff’s , Sumner , Woolston , Bromley and many more schools taking part.
The people who were cheering mostly cheered for people taking part in the 1000 metre run. People from our school occasionally cheered for
The person who was currently last place because they felt sorry for the person! Lots of people were asking Mr Mc Innes questions about what time they would do their next event! Heaps of people had to wait for their turn to do an event. It was a very long day away from school. A few people from our school made it to centrals! At the end of the day everyone felt happy and proud of their scores! J Thank you for reading!
