Well done Room 4, very creative and imaginative designs and good problem solving skills.

Term 2 Newsletter

Dear Parents/Caregivers of Room 4 Students,

 
Welcome back to another exciting term, I hope you all had a restful and enjoyable break.

This letter is just to let you know a little about what will be happening in Term Two.

 Spelling, tables and reading log will begin this week and will be the same as it was last term.  Please sign your child’s notebook and reading log to show they are completing these at home.

 Our topic for this term is ‘Remembrance-  Learning from our past to shape our future’, We will start this topic with an Anzac study and activities to remember the Anzac Centenary.  Later in the term the Christchurch City Council are funding a trip for Room 4 students to travel to the Museum and partake in a number of educational programmes.

This will be on Wednesday 27th May, more information will follow on this regarding parent help etc.

 Following this children will be exploring their own inquiries focusing on an aspect of the past that shaped the future i.e. toys, transport, housing, civilization, warfare, clothes, technology, etc.

 Other topics this term are:

Religious Education we will look at the Sacrament and Communion of Saints.

Mathematics is Addition and Subtraction and Geometry.

English is Poetry and Explanation.

 What’s on?

Monday: Homework comes home and  Kapa Haka.

Tuesday:

Wednesday: Kiwisport

Thursday: Library

Friday: Homework to be returned.

 Please check that your child still has all stationery needed in Room 4 including a red pen, ruler, pencils, eraser etc.

 All dates and times of events and activities this term will follow in the School Newsletter.
